Docklands Light Railway Standardises Tracksure Technology
Updated: May 22, 2018
UIC33 check rails on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) are now being retrofitted as standard with Tracksure technology as part of KeolisAmey Docklands’ (KAD) continuing drive to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

This follows on from their previous use in both standard fishplates and lift plates where Tracksure has already been adopted as the standard.

Tracksure Locking Devices can be used on a wide variety of bolted track applications and their usage on checkrails provides a very real benefit for KAD.
“With the ever-increasing demand for track utilisation and therefore shorter maintenance windows, we knew that Tracksure would help us on the demanding checkrail application”. said Tom Mann, Civils and Track Manager, DLR. “The product gives us peace of mind and we plan to extend their use to the complete network over time.”
Tracksure products are used extensively by many major infrastructure managers, providing real safety and operational gains. The products prevent bolt loosening that results from vibration and/or settlement and most recently have been incorporated into an OEM new build S&C programme in mainland Europe.
“We are really pleased to continue working with Tom and the team in the DLR” said Gerhard Dodl, MD of Tracksure. “The DLR track network is unique with really challenging maintenance windows and we are looking to continuing to work with KAD on both S&C and expansion switches as part of their continuous improvement programme.”
